Pope baptizes prominent Italian Muslim
By NICOLE WINFIELD, Associated Press Writer

VATICAN CITY - Italy's most prominent Muslim commentator, a journalist with iconoclastic views such as support for Israel, converted to Roman Catholicism Saturday when the pope baptized him at an Easter service.

As a choir sang, Pope Benedict XVI poured holy water over Magdi Allam's head and said a brief prayer in Latin.

"We no longer stand alongside or in opposition to one another," Benedict said in a homily reflecting on the meaning of baptism. "Thus faith is a force for peace and reconciliation in the world: distances between people are overcome, in the Lord we have become close."
Vatican television zoomed in on Allam, who sat in the front row of the basilica along with six other candidates for baptism. Allam later received his first Communion. Read More

A Thousand Miles - David Archuleta (moi bet for American Idol)

A born singer, David is a definition of talent (i mean since he was young up to now @ 17) at this season of American Idol.

Doon lang by Nonoy Zunega

"A heart-touching song indeed." This was my expression on Doon lang wherein some of the lines were revised and sung by former President Joseph Estrada on the Documentary by ABS-CBN for the late Fernando Poe Jr.

Lyrics:

Kung natapos ko ang aking pag-aaral
Disin sana'y mayroon na akong dangal
Na ihaharap sa `yo at ipagyayabang
Sa panaginip lang ako may ipagdiriwang
Yaman at katanyagan sa akin ay wala
Kakisigan ko ay bunga ng isang sumpa
Ang aking inay ang tangi kong tagahanga
Sa panaginip lang ako may nagagawa

Refrain

Repeat refrain (2x)

Photo of the month: January

Taken with just my N70, spectacular hues and colors were all captured in this photo during the Awarding & Closing Program of the Dinagyang Festival last January 27.

Flooded by the party people at Delgado Street for the Food Festival, these are pics of the first of the three SM in Iloilo City. SM Delgado is second to SM City Iloilo at Benigno Aquino Ave. in terms of Gross Floor Size. It was renovated into this Yellow look-facade.
And of course, pictures of the Dinagyang Festival:

As of March 22, according to this news article by Inquirer, the winner of the Dinagyang Festival this January which is Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School will be performing in New York City for the Philippine Independence Day Celebration there. According to Mayor Trenas, this will be the biggest celebration of Philippine Independence in the Unites States. Actually, the one who has been teaching the drums of Tribu Paghidaet is my cousin Raymund or " Bunsoy", hehe!

How to start blogging in a few minutes

This video produced by Blogger aims to help people who are interested and want to try the fascinated world of blogging. This is my 1st feature as I have come up with my new weblog.

What a Star (start..!) ...again

I have just turned 17 last March 12, and I think it would be better for me to maintain my own blog from now on rather than keeping a blog for the organization wherein I am the Chairman, the Laboratory School Student Council of Western Visayas College of Science and Technology.
Soon my term will be ending and I am indeed very thankful for those who have been part of my last year in High School. To be awarded one of the Outstanding Student Leaders of Iloilo City (TOSLIC) is such an honor. See the details @ http://wvcst.blogspot.com/2008/03/wvcst-bags-3-out-of-15-in-6th-search.html
I am more grateful to those who never left me when I was down, who helped me a lot in the organization especially my officers (whom I will be featuring soon...!) and the wonderful people whom I have known during my reign (hehe!) and fellow students here in Iloilo and even throughout the country.
I also want this blog to serve as my link to my classmates, the IV-Gold as we graduate soon and leave the portals of our Alma Mater, WVCST towards a new chapter in our lives. I hope that we will still be friends till forever...I will never forget all of you!
I hope to keep and meet more friends here. This is not the end, but the new beginning.
Padayaw! Hehe...!
